The Brazil-Canada Indigenous Telehealth (BCIT) Projects answer needs in the form of dynamic unfolding partnerships between indigenous, research and not-for-profit organizations, universities and governments. Their first step focuses on exchange of information designed to increase the capacity of indigenous peoples to collect and maintain health data and information to address health issues with an embedded gender equality component.
The BCIT Projects focus on deployment of telehealth and e-health systems allowing connected communities to improve health care provision, improve training and education of their health professionals and facilitate global integration of indigenous peoples.
