Health Care and Education

The communities most afflicted by lack of proper living conditions deserve to be reached and connected, heard and responded to, engage and participate, whether in sub-Saharan regions, in the Canadian Far North or deep into the Amazon rainforest.

Our mission is to contribute toward sustainable improvements to health care delivery and health education of remote and isolated communities by resorting to technology to bridge the geographic divide.

Like the canopies in the rainforest, sustainability in these actions will allow them to branch out to improvements in women empowerment, help strengthen gender equality, work towards preserving language and culture, and directly contribute to poverty reduction.

Celebrating 5 years of Building Knowledge Exchange !

_____________________

e-KSS™ brings a wealth of involvement with Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) in research and industry capacities, analysis and design of telehealth solutions, and management of a large portfolio of international projects.

About e-KSS™ Knowledge Transfer

e-KSS™ with Canadian and international partners engages in knowledge exchange with the goal of bridging the gap between the community's assessment of its health education and health care needs and their ability to enact changes.

In the quest to provide health assistance to those far away from health care centres, advances in ICTs allow for clinical acts to be performed at a distance, for remotely providing training and education of medical professionals, remote patient diagnostic and monitoring, and for the remote collection of health data. The use of ICTs in health care delivery and health education is referred to as telehealth.

Before telehealth solutions can be enacted, there has to be previous steps of needs assessment, community engagement and change management procedures. The ensemble defines the three pilars pivotal to the success of telehealth solutions.
